Changes are under way for FY 2011-2012. This year the Hopkins Pavilion will be hosting a hockey session for homeschoolers. This session will be offered each Friday, beginning October 28, 2011. Details are as follows:
Hopkins Pavilion Homeschool Hockey:
Days: Fridays (14 sessions)
Dates: October 28, November 4, 11, 18, December 2, 9, 16, January 13, 20, 27, February 3, 10, 17, 24
Time: 1:40 - 2:40pm (note additional session/time listed below)
Ages: ~8-12 (we'll allow a year above or below on a case by case basis...contact us with questions).
Cost: $3 per child. $4 for Adults that wish to be on the ice with their kids. Payable to the Hopkins Pavilion each visit (pay as you go, no need to purchase multiple sessions).
Format: ~ 20 minutes of instruction followed by ~40 minutes of scrimmages. Players will be divided by age/ability if needed and volunteers are available. Participants should have basic skating skills. This is not an intro to skating program.
Note: all families/players must sign a waiver before coming onto the ice. Parents/players assume all risks related to MFHA ice hockey and related activities. Participant and guardian agree that individuals volunteering or providing instruction for the Minnesota Family Hockey Association (MFHA) will not be held responsible for accidents, injury or loss of personal property, however caused, and agree to release volunteers and instructors of the MFHA from any claims or damages which may arise as a result of such accidents, injury, or loss.
Other Hockey/Skating Opportunities:
Hopkins Pavilion offers open hockey and skating for all ages from 12:30 - 1:30 each day of the week (not just for homeschoolers). Homeschool families with younger or older children are encouraged to participate during this time.
